Atomic Red Accents And Performance Tech In The KD 6 Meteorology
The KD 6 launched in 2013. Kevin Durant's sixth signature shoe's design emphasized supporting KD's style of play. Designer Leo Chang wanted a shoe that would complement Durant's characteristic fluidity on the court. That vision delivered a lightweight, low-top sneaker with lockdown traction.
The KD 6 features an ultra-thin upper bolstered with Flywire technology for support (Flywire tech uses lightweight fibers in the shoe as a support mechanism, functioning a little like the cables in a suspension bridge. The result is a show that can be up to 50% lighter than shoes using more conventional materials for support and stability). Zoom cushioning in the forefoot provides responsive cushioning, while a Max Air unit in the heel adds impact protection. The multi-layered hexagonal traction pattern gives non-slip control.
The "Meteorology" colorway debuted in August 2013. The upper is defined by competing waves of black and olive, tied together by pink and coral patterns modeled on Doppler radar graphics and bright splashes of Atomic Red.
The August 8 reissue of these high-performance Nike basketball shoes will be in men's and kids' sizes.
The KD 6 is known for its slim profile. While the fit is generally true to size, you may want to take a half size up from your usual size if you prefer a more generous fit or have wide feet. For optimal on-court performance, allow a couple of days of regular wear to break in the outsole.
