The adidas 4DFWD Pulse takes your typical running shoe and launches it straight into the future. While adidas has dabbled in 3D printing before with the Futurecraft 4D, 4D Run 1.0 and AlphaEdge 4D, the 4DFWD is unique because it’s based on 17 years of data collected from thousands of runners.
This 3D-printed kick is the epitome of science meets sport, and now, there are two more colorways for women and kids hitting stores on August 12. Women will get to enjoy a white, grey and pink colorway, while grade school kids can take advantage of a black, grey and white kick.
These new colorways follow in the footsteps of their predecessors with features like a 3D-printed lattice midsole to reduce impact with every stride. This standout part of the shoe resembles a spinal cord and the interlocking pieces combine to provide you with flex and give as you move. It’s designed to push your momentum forward, making it seem like you’re gliding.
Above the midsole is a Primeknit upper containing at least 50% recycled content and no virgin polyester. You’ll be able to do your part for the environment without sacrificing your PR. The sock-like fit means your feet won’t rub or slide around (but it also means you should size down about a half size for optimal comfort). A standard Three Stripe logo along the middle keeps the look grounded.
Whether you’re an experienced runner or looking to help your little one start their running career off on the right foot, the adidas 4DFWD can help. It looks great paired with all your adidas running apparel, like shorts, leggings and a tee. Wear some no-show ankle socks so you don’t take away from the mystique and beauty of this futuristic kick.
Launch into the future, whether you’re a track star or amateur, with the new adidas 4DFWD. Starting August 12, it’ll be available in a white, grey and pink women’s variant and a black, grey and white grade school kids’ variant online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
