Sneakers Release – adidas Agent Gil Restomod & adidas T-Mac 3 Restomod Men’s Shoes Dropping 12/1

Nov 26, 2021

The adidas Agent Gil Restomod “White/Pyrite/Black” and adidas T-Mac 3 Restomod “Black/Team Royal/Silver” men’s shoes launch December 1 at Hibbett | City Gear.

Ever heard of a restomod? It’s a term for classic cars restored with modern parts and technology to create the best of both worlds. However, now it doesn’t only apply to classic cars. adidas is getting in on the restoration action by sprucing up two favorite retro styles.

Both the adidas T-Mac 3 and Agent Gil are dropping in styles created for the latest generation. The T-Mac 3 will be offered in a black, Team Royal and silver combo, while the Agent Gil comes in a white, Pyrite and black palette. Both are hitting stores in men’s sizes on December 1.

The T-Mac 3 is the third signature shoe of seven-time NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady. A low-key star, McGrady wore this shoe during his last season with the Orlando Magic. That’s why the color palette here seems so familiar — it’s the same colors you’ll see on the jersey, making it the perfect accessory for your game-day look. Black croc-inspired synthetic leather covers the lateral upper, while the medial side has a shiny black leather with royal blue stripes shooting down from the lace guard.

You’ll see additional blue accents around the ankle collar, heel and midfoot plate. There’s also a blue adidas logo on the black tongue, which is covered by matching black laces. The Three Stripes are embossed on the lateral side at the ankle, giving off an impression of classiness.

While we’ve got plenty of details on the T-Mac 3, the Agent Gil release is a bit more hush-hush. Gilbert Arenas has had more of a storied past than McGrady, with a string of incidents that caused adidas to stop sponsoring him in 2009. Still, it looks like the brand believes in nostalgia enough to revive this shoe. Pyrite is a color we’ve seen before on shoes like the adidas Yeezy Boost 380 and looks like a warm grey, so when paired with the black and white, expect a shoe that’s not super colorful.

Reviving and restoring these two unique models from lesser-known basketball stars is a bold move for adidas, but it’s one that’s likely to pay off. Be sure to check out the T-Mac 3 in black, Team Royal and silver and the Agent Gil in white, Pyrite and black.

They’ll both look sweet with your retro jerseys and other basketball threads. Mark December 1 on your calendar because that’s when they’ll drop in men’s sizes online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
