Sneakers Release – adidas D.O.N. Issue #3 “Jazz” & “Sonic Ink/Solar Red” Colorways Out 7/10

Jul 6, 2021

Get ready for the next edition of NBA superhero Donovan Mitchell’s (aka “Spida”) signature adidas basketball sneaker line. Earlier this spring, the Utah Jazz point guard took the court for game two in the NBA Playoffs, debuting his newest namesake sneaker – the adidas D.O.N. Issue #3. On July 10 the silhouette drops in two new colorways: a Utah Jazz-inspired Team Purple, Acid Orange and Halo Mint for men, grade school kids and preschool kids and a Sonic Ink, Pulse Aqua and Solar Red for preschool and grade school kids.

While the two coloring of these kicks differ, the cut, design and technology remain the same. Like Mitchell’s other sneaker editions, the adidas D.O.N. Issue #3 has a busy textile and synthetic upper. A larger overlay near the top of the lacing system, along with an elastic strap, achieves a snug fit, while a squiggly overlay conceals the remainder of the shoe’s eyelets, with a zig-zag design appearing as a nod to the Issue #2.

The adidas Three Stripes are pushed off toward the side of the heel, and the Bounce midsole features a shiny, snake-like design detail that stands out against the foam. 3M reflective detailing may play out on some versions near the toebox, while a TPU cap reinforces the front edge of the sneaker for on-court durability. A structured heel counter, coupled with a plush interior, contributes to a locked-down, stable fit. Mitchell’s signature, spider logo and Issue #3 detailing are also incorporated throughout the sneaker’s design.

While D.O.N. is an obvious play on the player’s name, it also stands for “determination over negativity,” and snagging a pair of these cheerful kicks gives any kid or street baller the underfoot tools they need to help fuel their determination.

Grab the Team Purple, Acid Orange, Halo Mint “Jazz” colorway in men’s, grade school kids and preschool sizes and/or the Sonic Ink, Pulse Aqua and Solar Red rendition in preschool and grade school kids’ sizes beginning July 10 in-stores and online at Hibbett | City Gear.
