adidas is on a mission to help save the planet, one sneaker at a time. As part of the forward-thinking company’s long-term commitment to sustainability, adidas has partnered with Parley for the Oceans, an organization dedicated to helping save the planet’s most important ecosystem, to inspire and mobilize the next generation to re-chart the course of our planet’s future.

This January 30, join in the collaboration’s efforts to avoid virgin plastic, intercept plastic waste and redesign new alternatives by purchasing a pair of men’s or women’s adidas x Parley Ultraboost 20 at Hibbett | City Gear.

Offered in two colorways, the men’s running shoe comes in an ocean-inspired blue and white “Legend Ink” colorway, while the women’s shoe evokes a seashore aesthetic with an off-white and navy color scheme.

Since 2015, Ultraboost has provided runners with groundbreaking underfoot technology; and since 2016, adidas has worked to incorporate recycled ocean plastics into their products. In 2018 alone, the company produced 6 million pairs of adidas x Paley shoes.

The newest adidas x Parley Ultraboost 20 perpetuates this practice by integrating Parley Ocean Plastic into its Primeknit upper. Waste from beaches and coastal communities is collected and recycled into yarn before it reaches the ocean.

The Parley yarn then combines with adidas’ Tailored Fibre Placement technology for a snug, fitted upper with enhanced breathability. A 3D heel frame also contributes to the locked-down feel of the shoe.

Hallmarks of these Ultraboost 20s include a lightweight, responsive full-length Boost midsole — made up of thousands of foam capsules for optimal return on energy, no matter the activity. A strategically placed Torsion bar bolsters support at the arch of the foot.

Branding includes the Three Stripes on the midfoot cage and the adidas Running and Parley for the Oceans logo on the tongue. The running shoe’s Stretchweb outsole gets a Continental Rubber treatment – creating an all-weather, tire-like tread that performs well on any surface, whatever the conditions.
