The iconic comfort and style of the Air Jordan 1 high top returns to the center court this month with the release of Jordan Brand‘s “Black Satin” Jordan 1 Retro High OG, dropping January 16.
Originally designed by Peter Moore in 1985, this retro release brings a sense of nostalgia to you and your favorite little one. Available in men’s and grade-school kids’ sizes, the latest AJ 1 Retro rethinks the basketball shoe’s classic heritage colors by trading in the red on black leather color blocking for an all-black, shiny nylon satin and smooth full-grain leather.
These materials seamlessly blend for an ultra-durable upper that rides atop a white midsole and black outsole. The original Wings logo and Jumpman insignia – along with the laces – get a Gym Red treatment, and black leather Nike Swooshes embellish the sides.
An oversized padded collar on the sneaker imparts both comfort and ankle support, as well as emulates the visual essence of the original Air Jordan basketball shoe. A mesh inner lining and encapsulated air sole unit at the heel provides additional structural protection and energy return on impact.
