Sneakers Release – Air Jordan Why Not? Zer0.3 “KB3” Parachute Beige Men’s Basketball Shoe

Comfortable and stylish on and off the court, the new Jordan Why Not? Zer0.3 “KB3” basketball shoes drop on May 11 in men’s sizes. The sneakers come in a colorway that features Parachute Beige with pops of Rage Green, Fossil and black that capture Westbrook’s “anything but simple” aesthetic.

Westbrook worked with senior Jordan designer David Cin to reimagine this newest rendition of his signature basketball shoes, tapping into pop culture and childhood memories of movies, TV shows, family and friends. The “KB3” model is a tribute to his late best friend and former teammate, Khelcey Barrs III. The subtle military-suggestive colorway underscores Westbrook and KB3’s brothers-in-arms approach to doing battle together on the court.

Built for the rigors of the game, the sculpted, performance-driven shoe features flashes of Rage Green on the midfoot strap, the lateral side “KB3” patch, in the stitching and on the Westbook logo embellished deubré.

An innovative toolkit of materials transforms the look and feel of Westbrook’s basketball shoes. The conventional lacing system gets a youthful, functional upgrade with a hook-and-loop adjustable-fit wrap. The uppers offer a visual palette of textures. Features include coated leather on the toe tips, ventilation and containment-enhancing TPU cage quarter panels. Synthetic fabrics feature on the ripstop of the vamp, tongue, ankle overlays and mustache. The low-profile internal collar is double-padded and teamed with a pull tab on the heel for easy slip-on and slip off. The result is a sneaker that not only looks stylish but also offers excellent lockdown without sacrificing comfort.

Built-in technology adds structure and cushioning throughout the sneaker. Sitting lower to the ground than the 0.2, the shoe’s midsole lightning-bolt design element bolsters support and styling. Articulated Zoom Air in the forefoot is constructed with horizontal flex grooves that improve compression response and, ultimately, speed and lift-off. The rubber outsoles have integrated outriggers at the heel along with a modified herringbone pattern, while the forefoot is designed with a concentric pattern. Together they provide optimal multi-directional traction and stabilization.

Fun, signature touchpoints are scattered throughout the shoe, including a crest icon beneath the tongue, an “RW” logo stamp along the heel and toe tips hand-scribed with “Why Not?” The number 0 (Westbrook’s jersey number) doubles as a traction pattern on the outsole’s forefoot. Subtle debossed “Why Not?” logos on the quarter panels, as well as additional inscriptions along the midsole, complete the unique look. The shoe also incorporates a stamped “size tag” (usually found inside the shoe) and a “perfect strike” diagram, a salute to one of Westbrook’s favorite off-court pastimes — bowling.
