The Nike Air Jordan 1 Mid SE “Tiki Leaf” invokes the full spectrum of red with shades of Team Red, University Red, Sail and Muslin. We’ve seen a very similar colorway drop last fall on the Jordan Delta 3, so it’s not a huge shock to see Jordan Brand reusing the theme. The upper is a mix of suede and tumbled leather. Sail suede covers the middle and toe box, while darker red leather wraps around the toe and covers the eyestays and ankle.

The typical Swoosh across the middle is actually an entirely embroidered design made of maroon thread. Even the line that wraps around the heel features delicate threading. But that’s not the only thing that’s embroidered. The kick’s marquee design — the tiki leaf shapes around the heel and ankle — are all actually embroidered on top of a lighter red leather overlay. From a distance, it looks like one solid design, but a closer inspection reveals all of the intricate details.

Muslin laces strap up over a tongue of the same color. The tongue features a Jumpman in dark red — the same red used for the ankle padding. On the lateral side of the shoe along the dark red ankle overlay, you’ll also notice a lighter red Air Jordan Wings logo. These red-dominant shoes sit atop a Muslin midsole and a dark red outsole with pivot circle traction.

The deep and dark reds of this shoe fit the mood of winter well, but the fun leaf designs offer a promise of warmer weather to come. Because of that, you could style these with both warm and cold weather clothing.
