Looking for a basketball or lifestyle sneaker that balances style, performance and heritage? Meet the shoe that started it all — the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG, a timeless sneaker originally designed by Peter Moore that first hit the courts in 1985.
On April 11, the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG gets a fresh new “Court Purple” color palette of Court Purple, black and white. The shoe drops in both grade school kids’ and men’s sizes.
Whether you’re playing on a youth, intramural or college team, the “Court Purple” AJ 1 Retros offer a distinct, regal appeal.
The high-top basketball sneaker gets a stitched-on, full-grain leather upper for a smooth silhouette. Court Purple plays out on the mudguards, heel and lacing system, and encircles the ankle. The shoe’s toe box features a white tumbled leather with the AJ 1 Retro’s signature perforations, while the white extends up the shoe’s throat and tongue and provides a backdrop along the shoe’s sides for the contrasting black Swooshes. Black laces meet the shoe’s black collar and extend down into the plush sockliner. The retro Air Jordan Wings logo also gets the black embossed treatment.
The white midsole and fully encapsulated Air-Sole unit give all players the underfoot comfort to help with those on-the-court power plays. The AJ 1 Retro’s solid rubber cupsole — including the famous concentric traction pattern and flex grooves — comes swathed in Court Purple.
