When you think purple and green, it might bring up memories of a certain lovable dinosaur. Jordan Brand is looking to change that association with its stunning new Jordan 4 colorway.

The Jordan Retro 4 “Canyon Purple” makes purple and green cool again with shades of Canyon Purple, Anthracite, Alligator and Safety Orange throughout. The unique palette is being released in women’s sizes, making it a nice change from the typical pastel fare.

The Tinker Hatfield design varies slightly from the original concept, this time rocking an all-suede Canyon Purple upper. Even the tongue — usually in patent leather — looks soft and touchable in purple suede.

However, don’t mistake this for a monochromatic shoe. The webbed eyelets at the top and bottom holding the purple laces in place are Alligator, a muted shade of chartreuse with black speckling. This green appears again on the support panels in the midsole, as well as at the toe and heel of the outsole.

Anthracite — a deep gray that almost looks black — is another accent color. You’ll see it on the support wings that connect from the top eyelet to the heel. A matte black overlay at the heel displays an embossed Jumpman as well as a waffle-patterned heel plate. And of course, there are black components in the midsole and outsole.

We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the black tongue patch. It features a bright Safety Orange Jumpman with the word “Flight” scrawled beneath. This same Jumpman can be seen on the black insole inside the shoe. And for one extra touch of flair, the back of the tongue is also orange, as is the Jumpman on the outsole.

The trifecta of colors on this shoe creates a palette that stands on its own. Because of that, we recommend keeping the rest of your outfit on the chill side. Black ankle socks along with fitted black joggers and an olive green crop top could create amazing vibes.
