Roses are red, violets are blue, we love Carmine, what about you? That’s right. The enviable “Carmine” Air Jordan 6 is back just in time for Valentine’s Day 2021!

Named for its deep red coloring, the original Air Jordan 6 “Carmine” colorway was first released in 1991 during the 1990–1991 NBA Championship season. Since the “Carmine” colorway’s first appearance in the sneakersphere, it’s been retroed twice, once in 2008 and again in 2014. On February 13, 30 years after its debut, the third retro release of the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Carmine” colorway will launch in full family sizing online and in-stores at Hibbett | City Gear.

The OG “Carmine” Jordan 6 stood out in the Jumpman line because it was the first AJ 6 with colored panels.

Smooth leather overlays give this year’s Retro “Carmine” its traditional stability, while a low-nap red suede swaths the toe box and the shoe’s sides. A series of perforations in varying sizes along the red sides and the white leather add the right balance of ventilation, perfect for those too-hot-to-handle plays.

Silky red cloaks the shoe’s tongue, providing a shimmery backdrop to the sneaker’s signature Jumpman branding. Black outlines the midsole and the sockliner, while a translucent outsole runs up the Jordan shoe’s sides and frames out the visible Air-Sole unit in the heel.

The Air Jordan 6 Retro’s foam midsole provides game-long comfort, bolstered by dual Air-Sole units. The outsole’s grippy traction pattern, the spoiler-like heel piece and the oversized ankle design mimic Michael Jordan’s German sports car that inspired Tinker Hatfield during the initial design process for this Jordan silhouette.
