The Jordan Why Not? Zer0.5 “White/Bright Crimson/Black” men’s and grade school kids‘ basketball shoe drops June 7 at Hibbett | City Gear.
What’s next for Russell Westbrook? Amid all the rumblings that the Lakers might cut him loose, this isn’t Beastbrook’s final chapter. Not even close. His latest basketball shoe colorway will remind sneakerheads that he’s one of the anointed few to have a collection under the Jordan umbrella.
This Jordan basketball sneaker is built for speed and power. Anyone can leave their opponents in the dust by slipping on a pair of the Jordan Why Not Zer0.5. White composes the base layer of these shoes, including the oversized, undulating foam midsole, toe box overlays and mesh. A lightweight, translucent overlay swaths the balance of the upper for a breathable, foot-stabilizing component that contributes to the rich, textural look of the silhouette.
Bright Crimson webbing rests just beneath that skin, providing additional stability at the midfoot and lacing system, while black bands help lock down the top of the foot at the neoprene-nylon collar.
The balance of the shoe takes a heavy-handed approach with the black tone, which secures the ankle, structures the heel and pads the top of the foot. A higher cut entry into the shoe by way of a generously sized heel piece and tongue further fortifies the ankle. Additional “Infrared” detailing trims the Westbrook and Jordan branding, the eyelets, heel piece and the toe portion of the outsole.
Speaking of the outsole, these Jordan basketball shoes feature a grey trail-shoe-like pattern with data-informed rubber lugs zonally tuned for traction on and off court. The sectioned rubber also offers flexibility to make those power plays.
