Sneakers Release – Men’s AJ 7 Retro “PSG” Colorway Out 5/22

Any casual soccer fan a least knows a little bit about the Paris Saint-Germain Football Club. If you’re a true aficionado, you’ll know Jordan Brand has sponsored PSG since 2018.

Since that groundbreaking partnership began, the sneakersphere has seen many cool collaborations from the PSG x Jordan line that intertwine the team’s Parisian style with traditional Jumpman features. The latest of these collabs, the men’s Air Jordan 7 “PSG,” launches May 22.

Naturally, the sneaker has stayed true to the instantly recognizable Jordan 7 silhouette that Tinker Hatfield designed back in 1992, but the PSG colorway has tweaked the design with the addition of transparent mesh along the midfoot and ankle panels.

A white leather upper enjoys touches of navy and red on the tongue, toe box and ankle. All in all, it’s a color scheme that pays tribute to both the French flag and the pro soccer team’s logo.

The AJ 7’s usual “23” on the heel has been replaced with a fancy navy and white fleur-de-lis outlined by a red Eiffel Tower graphic. You’ll also get to practice your French, as the phrase “ICI C’EST PARIS” lines the insoles. It’s the familiar battle cry of PSG and translates to “Here is Paris.” There’s also a tag reading “PANAME” along the outer middle, which is the nickname for Paris and its suburbs.

The AJ 7 is the first shoe in the Jordan line that didn’t feature a Nike logo visible on the outside, so perhaps it’s fitting to see PSG take over these typically branded spots. Don’t worry though — you’ll still see a gold Jumpman logo in its usual spot along the ankle, as well as a white one on the outsole.

Its high-cut ankle makes the Retro Jordan 7 great for flying down the court — or, in this case, the pitch. Cruise past the competition with the encapsulated Air Sole unit in the heel, which gives you comfort even during evasive moves. Plus, the multidirectional traction patterns make sure you keep your footing.
