The Nike Air Force 1 Low SE “40 Years” tips its hat to the shoe’s storied past with special branding and accents throughout. This special edition shoe will be available in men’s sizes starting on October 13.

The Air Force 1 was the shoe that started it all. The 1982 design by Bruce Kilgore was the first Nike basketball shoe to have Nike Air technology, which obviously paved the way for great things to come. And now that we’ve hit the 40th anniversary of this iconic kick, it’s time to celebrate.

An all-white leather base keeps things crisp and clean — you’ll need to make sure you treat these guys with special care to avoid scuffs or marks. Ventilation holes in the toe box keep you smelling fresh.

A classic black Swoosh soars across the middle on both sides, wrapping as usual around the heel. There’s also black Air detailing on the heel of the white midsole. What makes this shoe a special edition is all of the unique branding throughout. A metallic gold lace dubrae reads “AF1 ’82.” There are also two golden eyelets at the top that add even more glitz.

The tongue label features the classic Nike Air logo with additional Air Force 1 detailing. Inside the shoe, both the sockliner and insole feature “82-22” motifs to celebrate the 40-year lifespan. There’s also an additional debossed “40” on the back of the heel beneath the traditional Nike Air branding.

The classic white rubber outsole — originally designed for the hardwood — comes with a black pivot circle traction pattern at the forefoot and an off-white one at the heel.
