The Nike Air Max 90 Futura “White/Bright Crimson-Fuchsia Dream” women’s shoe launches March 1 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Jan. 22, 2023, may have marked Chinese Lunar New Year, but the latest shoes from the Swoosh are hopping into the year of the rabbit a bit later than originally anticipated. Initially teased with a December 2022 release date, the Nike Air Max 90 Futura “Lunar New Year” shoes will officially drop on March 1 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Available in women’s sizes, the Air Max 90 Futuras mix a multicolor palette of Bright Crimson, pink, Fuschia Dream, orange, light blue and black — all accenting the otherwise white mesh upper. Perfect for everyday wearers who want to add a heady pop of color to their favorite fits, the women’s sneaker gives off all the retro stylings Air Max fans have gravitated toward for more than 30 years. These kicks have a refreshed, Futura makeover that keeps the DNA of the original fan fave. Cutting-edge tech details include molded plastic on the heel and eyestays, exposed stitching and floating logos.
The Air Max Futura “Lunar New Year” edition layers mesh under suede and leather. Shiny black leather mudguards run along the entire sneaker, accented by salmon-pink Swooshes with orange fading. Soft suede in burnt orange adorns the heel, with one shoe featuring a small red Swoosh and another with scrawled “Air” text.
Cheerful purple overlays anchor the midfoot and form the lace guard, while the deep pink mesh dresses the shoe’s throat, providing a nice counterbalance to the white laces. Light aqua TPU overlays along the lacing system add to the layered look as well, picking up the outsole color. Aqua frames out the heel’s Air-Sole unit along the otherwise white midsole, and bright orange and red mesh compose the plush sockliner.
The leather tongue tag has a streetwear-style Air Max logo, complete with a black nylon tab for easy on, easy off. To add to the deconstructed, urban wanderer aesthetic of this Air Max 90, the shoe incorporates random stitches and reinforced zig-zag embroidery throughout.
