The Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer “Ghost Green/Black/Pink Blast” men’s and women’s shoe launches July 14 at Hibbett | City Gear.
What do you get when you take two heritage Nike styles and combine them? The all-new Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer. It’s a combo of the 2012 Flyknit Racer and the Nike Air Max Pre-Day that offers the best of both shoes. And now, it’s arriving in a multi-tonal colorway.
The Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer “Multi-Color” comes in a mix of Ghost Green, Pink Blast, Photo Blue and black tones. You should be no stranger to this combination of colors, as it was seen quite frequently on the original Flyknit Racers.
The first thing you’ll notice here is the colorful Flyknit upper, which is meant to be form-fitting, lightweight and airy—making it perfect for those long runs. It’s a woven mix of multiple colors, including pinks, blues, and yellows. The rainbow result looks incredibly complex both close up and from a distance.
Along the middle, the rainbow threading changes to black to create a large Swoosh. There’s also a black chiseled heel patch—a detail reminiscent of the Pre-Day—that also features a black heel tab with Ghost Green striping.
A black tongue and lace paneling features black laces overtop. You’ll see Ghost Green Nike Flyknit branding on the top of the tongue, along with black ankle padding that wraps to the heel. Inside the shoe, the black insole has the Nike Pinwheel—indicating the shoe is part of Nike’s Move to Zero campaign and is made at least partly of recycled materials—in the same pale green.
Speaking of recycled materials, it appears the outsole is made from Nike Grind. The black rubber features the tell-tale speckled look indicating the sole is a mix of old rubber, foam, fiber and more. Above that, the white midsole features a classic translucent Air unit at the heel.
You’ll likely want to throw these shoes on before your training runs to keep yourself light and springy throughout your ride. Therefore, we suggest pairing them with your favorite running shorts and a tank. The good news? Since these shoes are so colorful, they basically match everything! They might look best with Ghost Green neon shorts and a black shirt, though.
Feeling crafty? Then you’ll love Nike’s knitted take on two of its famed running shoes. Grab the Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer “Multi-Color” in women’s sizes and men’s sizes starting July 14, online or at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
