You’ve never seen sneakers like this before. While Nike Flyknit technology took sneaker uppers to a whole new level, the legendary brand’s new and innovative Joyride cushioning platform is revolutionizing the running shoe game the same way Air and React did. These running shoes are the first release from the Joyride collection. Check out some of the new shoes in the Black and Volt colorway, along with the men’s/women’s Joyride Run Flyknit in the White and Racer Blue colorway.
Joyride technology keeps legs fresh by providing wearers with a personalized underfoot experience along with optimal absorption within a light, energy-returning package. The Nike exclusive, proprietary cushioning system consists of thousands of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) beads that sit within zonally-tuned pods. The pods allow the foam to expand in all directions and create a personalized footbed to provide the smoothest ride possible.
Nike tested 150 materials before choosing TPE for the beads used in the pods. The pods also come with a unique design that keeps the beads from moving too much around the foot. According to Nike, their designers were able to create a zonal-tuning for each respective iteration of Nike Joyride.
Flyknit has cemented itself as Nike’s go-to material for a wide range of their shoe categories — especially their running shoes. Luckily for Flyknit fans, Nike has made even more improvements to its marquee technology. The latest footwear models now come equipped with improved support, enhanced flexibility and more breathability than ever.
For the latest evolution of Flyknit shoes, Nike is putting Flyknit technology into every possible facet of the shoe’s construction. The most significant innovation comes from the Flyknit manufacturing machines and their ability to create the entire shoe upper in complete 360-degree form. The Flyknit engineering process delivers a seamless, full-coverage fit that offers more foot stability and significantly reduces slippage.
Nike engineered these kicks for all runners. The soft cushioning and smooth transition eases impact, whether you’re a seasoned 5K champion or a weekend warrior looking to a pair of kicks for your afternoon jog. For Women, size six and smaller, we’ve further tuned the Nike Joyride Run Flyknit experience to address the foot in motion. In size five through size six, we’ve included three separate cavities of beads that address cushioning in the heel, comfort in the midfoot and energy return in the forefoot. Sizing does run a half size small, so we recommend going a half size up from what you would normally wear.
