In the cult classic ’90s film “White Men Can’t Jump,” one of the main characters famously sports the Nike Air “Command Force” sneakers — an amped-up white high top complete with neon and black accents. LeBron James’ latest shoe takes its cues from that bold early-’90s sneaker and gives it a more refined twist, proving that anyone can jump — they just need the right pair of sneakers to help lift them off the ground.
On April 17, slide your feet into a pair of Nike LeBron 17 “Command Force” sneakers with a white, black and multicolor palette. Made for ballers of all sizes, the shoe comes in grade school boys’ and men’s editions.
These always-dynamic LeBron 17 shoes come swathed in a white Knitposite upper – a powerful combo of Flyknit and heat-molded plastic yarn that provides structure and holds onto the color. The sides of the upper are dressed in a swirled, cheerful multicolor pattern that meets at the heel. A semi-clear overlay sits on each side of the shoe to boost midfoot stability, and the lateral side’s overlay also includes the black reverse Swoosh. White laces tie just above the tongue, which features the oversized “LEBRON” logo in the same font and neon color as the OG Air Max Command Force tongue. A white midsole with black speckles mimics the original Command Force details, too.
When Nike’s Jason Petrie designed the LeBron 17, he incorporated lightweight, springy comfort for easy runs to the basket and even easier liftoffs. The shoe features a large Max Air unit in the heel and Zoom Air technology beneath the forefoot, along with soft foam pods — all of which take on the neon color.
Let Hibbett | City Gear put a spring in your step on April 17 with the Nike LeBron 17 “Command Force” sneakers available in grade school boys’ and men’s sizes.
