University Red artfully embellishes the shoe’s otherwise black upper, offering restrained pops of color that echo the red hits of the sneaker’s branding and the visible air-sole unit.

Independent Air Zoom units reside beneath the forefoot, working in tandem with Max Air to create a quintessential hybrid cushioning system. The Max Air units are the tallest so far in the LeBron lineup. A soft foam pod sits just beneath the Max Air, further bolstering the cushioning. This cushioning system means faster response times, higher jumps and softer landings for you and your favorite little baller.

Other features packed into this star-studded LeBron sneaker include stabilizing plastic clips that wrap around the heel and lock the foot down and a wide collar for easy on, easy off wear. Red lace locks with the Dunkman logo provide additional lockdown, and red webbing covers the back half of the shoe’s mostly black outsole.

Nike designer Jason Petrie added plenty of LeBron branding throughout the shoe, including a No. 23 stitched in red at the laces and white LJ initials. A shimmery lion image rests beneath the laces, and LeBron’s signature in white suggests Nike’s retro Flight logo font.
