Legendary comfort, record-breaking speed and aerodynamic style all combine to deliver a seamless running experience in the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 37. This school year, college students, alumni and sports fans can pair their passion for running with their passion for their alma mater. The Air Zoom Pegasus 37 is set to drop August 20 in eight university colorways perfect for students transitioning into higher education or those just seeking the perfect pair of tailgate-ready runners.
The shoes, available in men’s sizes, will come in the following collegiate colorways: Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio State, Tennessee and West Virginia.
While the 37th iteration of the Pegasus rolled out in 2020, Nike actually introduced the original Pegasus 37 years earlier way back in 1983. As running became even more mainstream, Nike re-developed the shoe to appeal to runners of all strides.
The Pegasus has only improved throughout the years, thanks to new technologies and increased data on the science of running. While the Pegasus 37 certainly plays off its predecessors, it drops the Cushlon midsole material in favor of Nike React technology, making for a lighter shoe. This proprietary foam permits a soft landing with optimal energy return and enhanced durability without the bulk of past iterations.
The sneaker’s forefoot-located Air Zoom unit is twice the size of previous versions, which improves responsiveness and adds more bounce. The men’s sneakers’ upper comprises translucent layers of mesh for a breathable, foot-hugging fit, while a midfoot band helps the shoe adapt to the size of each runner’s foot for a custom feel.
The year 2020 marks 37 years of this solid running sneaker.
