When Allen Iverson arrived in Philadelphia, he was dubbed The Answer to the team’s struggles. His prowess on the court led to him signing with Reebok and releasing the aptly named Reebok Answer 1 DMX. And now, for the first time ever (not counting its 2018 Asian re-release), that OG shoe will be available once more.

The Reebok Answer 1 DMX in the original white, Laser Red and black colorway, is hitting stores in men’s sizes on July 29. The release is coming just in time to celebrate 25 years of this signature shoe.

Considering this shoe is a classic, you can likely picture it already, but let us refresh your memory. A white tumbled leather upper covers most of the shoe’s surface. A red leather accent line runs horizontally across the middle of the shoe. Toward the heel on the lateral side, there’s a signature golden I3 jewel logo (this is the first shoe to feature this).

Below this is a faux black mesh patch that wraps around the heel. On the lateral side, there’s a white Reebok logo on this patch. This sits directly above the white midsole, which offers golden patches to showcase where the DMX Moving Air cushioning goes.

The shiny red leather tongue reads “Iverson” in white and gold embroidery, and the laces are locked down with a white eyestay featuring a red and gold Reebok logo. The interior of the tongue features a special message commemorating AI’s Rookie of the Year achievement.

Under this all is the red ice outsole with metallic flecks. Golden traction points and a final I3 logo at the midfoot add a nice touch of contrast.

This collector’s item would look stellar with all of your favorite Iverson gear, whether that’s a retro 76ers jersey or a baller T-shirt. Throw this together with black basketball shorts or joggers, and you have an outfit worthy of The Answer himself.
