The 1996 All-Star Game in San Antonio was one for the books, and to commemorate the fun of that game and legendary All-Star team, Reebok is launching a men’s Kamikaze II Low inspired by that year’s team jerseys. Whether you want to celebrate summer fun or show off your basketball fandom, pick up a pair of these white, spearmint and orange kicks when they drop at Hibbett | City Gear on July 16.

As the most popular Shawn Kemp signature sneaker, the Kamikaze II Low does a good job of riding those ’90s nostalgia vibes. The aqua (spearmint) textured leather upper looks bold on the court or the streets. Squiggly white overlays cascade over the sides, adding even more spunk. Along the midsole is a speckled orange patch that cuts behind the heel. Overall, the whole look is reminiscent of paint colors oozing on top of one another before being mixed.

While this trifecta of colors is powerful in its own right, Reebok decided to add just a splash more with pink detailing in the Reebok logos at the heel, tongue and forefoot. There’s also a black insole, most likely to keep all of the colors balanced with one another.

Though mostly worn for style these days, it’s definitely possible to wear the Kamikaze Low II on the court, as it still holds up nearly 26 years after its original release. The low ankle cut gives you more freedom and flexibility as you navigate around defenders. Plus, it gives you a better chance to showcase some killer crew socks — perhaps in white to keep things simple, or matching aqua or orange to go big.

Even if you’re not feeling the hardwood, you’ll still love wearing these shoes for a heritage look. You’ll look just like Reign Man himself when you don a comfortable pair of shorts and your favorite jersey (maybe even a throwback one from the ’96 ASG?). The colorway gives off serious Miami vibes with its bright tones and is just begging to be worn while strolling the streets of South Beach.
