Damian Lillard is a modern-day Renaissance man. In addition to being a point guard for the Portland Trail Blazers, he also has a thriving rap career with his pseudonym, Dame D.O.L.L.A, and he’s continuing to put his many talents to good use by continuing to release new colorways of his adidas signature basketball shoe.

Despite just releasing the adidas Dame 7 last year, we’ve already seen a few different iterations of this colorful basketball shoe. This month, the Dame 7 is releasing in a brand new men’s “Dark Blue/Pulse Aqua” colorway on July 16.

While we can’t say for sure what Dame Time’s inspiration behind this new kick was, but chances are it’s his upcoming role in Space Jam: A New Legacy (also debuting on July 16). The Dark Blue and Pulse Aqua ombre upper of this performance sneaker (along with the orange accents) matches the colors of the uniform the players wear in the film.

The Dark Blue starts at the back of the shoe and gradually fades into the Pulse Aqua at the toe. The midsole does the same but in a slightly offset pattern, helping to make it stand out in a sea of blue. Beneath this, the outsole is just a block of Dark Blue at the heel and Pulse Aqua from the midfoot forward.

Right away, your eye is drawn to the Pulse Aqua patch on the side heel. The orange Three Stripes that the adidas brand is known for sit in the middle arranged in equal lines (instead of the typical asymmetrical format). There’s another darker orange semicircle at the forefoot, along with a Pulse Aqua overlay with lyrics from the Dame D.O.L.L.A. song “No Punches” – “Never came across a pro that move like me / Not even slightly.” This is fitting if we’re to believe this is a Space Jam-inspired shoe.

Naturally, these kicks would look great on your feet if you’re battling aliens in an intergalactic game of basketball. But they’d also look awesome with your favorite casual threads on, say, an outing to the movie theater.
