Rihanna, Kylie Jenner and The Weeknd may pop on a pair of PUMAs and get pics taken by the paparazzi, but the PUMA Suede has been on the scene much longer than this current crop of celebs.

The original PUMA Suede debuted in 1968 and, unlike the icons that have sported them in the past, these beauties haven’t aged one bit. Beginning February 19, the new, reimagined PUMA Suede XXI launches in several classic colorways for men, including grey, navy, black and red — each of which features the line’s signature white Formstrip and midsole.

In 1968, PUMA created the original Suede model as a departure from the brand’s traditional leather and canvas training sneakers. Over the years, this street-ready styled amassed a cult-like following. Everyone from basketball players and hip-hop stars to skaters sported PUMA Suedes.

The PUMA Suede XXI takes that classic track-style shoe into the next decade with a fresh, modern spin on the timeless classic.

For the XXI, PUMA sources the full-suede upper of the shoe from an environmentally friendly leather manufacturer audited and certified by the Leather Working Group protocol. Layers of this velvety suede feature tonal embroidery throughout, while the white Formstrip overlay fearlessly arcs along the shoe’s sides, trisected by white stitching.

Metallic gold PUMA Suede branding gets stamped into the lateral side, contributing to the luxe aesthetic of these lifestyle sneaks. A woven PUMA tag appears on the tongue, and tonal laces criss-cross the shoe’s vamp for a snug fit. An interior EcoOrtholite sockliner ensures breathability and hugs the foot in all the right places.

The crisp, textured white rubber midsole cushions the foot, bolstering the sneaker’s day-long comfort while a unique rubber traction pattern delivers even more multi-surface grip than the original.

Starting February 19, you can cop a pair of these reimagined PUMA classics with the release of the PUMA Suede XXI in grey and white, navy and white, black and white, and red and white colorways.
