Sneakers Release – Zion 1 “Duke” Black/White/Hyper Royal Colorway Dropping March 15

Mar 8, 2022

Zion Williamson appeared on the NBA scene as the No. 1 pick for the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2019 NBA draft. The young, hungry power forward rose to fame as a high school and after being selected to play for the Pelicans cemented his star status by becoming one of the anointed few to launch a signature sneaker line under the Jordan Brand his rookie year.

On March 15, the Zion 1 drops in a Black/White/Hyper Royal colorway nicknamed the “Duke,” obviously referring to the baller’s college alma mater.

The sleek colorway features textured black TPU overlays along the quarter panels and heel of the shoe, accented by a Hyper Royal-colored mesh toebox midsole. The balance of the shoe lands in a bright white — laces and outsole included.

Technically, this version of the Zion 1 is built for showing off athleticism in all its forms on the paint. Stitched directly to the upper, a full-length Air Strobel unit offers a cloud-like feel, while Zoom Air stacked beneath the forefoot contributes to the shoe’s responsiveness. A looped band helps keep the foot stable, bolstered by the generous sidewalls. The outsole’s multidirectional pattern, meanwhile, offers great grip and precise traction when and where you require it.

Plush padding around the ankle and atop the foot along the lacing system lets you go the extra mile on court, alleviating any pressure while creating extra comfort. And both Jumpman and Zion branding get incorporated throughout the shoe — from the Air Jordan insignia at the lacing system to the scrawled-on Zion name at the heel.

Zion Williamson is at the forefront of his career, paving the way for other basketball players and modeling tenaciousness and talent on and off the court. Cop a pair of the men’s Zion 1 “Duke” colorway at Hibbett | City Gear on March 15, to help unleash your own athletic potential.
