Sometimes, you don’t need a lot of flash to make a major impact. The latest Air Jordan 4 Retro colorway, dubbed “Purple Metallic,” proves that with its radiant white upper and whispers of purple.
Shrouded in all white with hints of Court Purple and subtle metallic, these Air Jordan 4s roll out as part of the Jordan brand’s “Metallic Pack.” These super-collectible kicks drop in men’s and grade school boys’ sizes on May 20.
The Jordan 4 Retro sneakers take their colorway cues from the original Air Jordan 1 1985 “Metallic Pack” release, closely matching the retro aesthetic. The “Purple Metallic” AJ 4 has a white base that covers the smooth and tumbled leather upper with its premium stitched overlays. All-white mesh cutouts on the shoe’s sides mirror the white mesh throat and tongue, adding nuance and texture to this hoops-inspired sneaker.
In 1989, Nike designer Tinker Hatfield packed comfort, performance and reliability into the distinguished AJ 4. The shoe reached superstardom status when Michael Jordan made “The Shot” — a still-talked-about move against Cleveland — while wearing a pair of AJ 4s.
Metallic TPU lacing wings get the Court Purple treatment, along with the visible Air-Sole unit in the heel. Where the Air Jordan 1 relied on a generously sized Swoosh, the AJ 4 rests on the heritage of the Jordan brand, incorporating Court Purple Jumpman branding on the tongue tag, heel and insole.
No one could dominate a game like His Airness. Whether defying gravity or racking up medals, MJ was magnetic. Decades later, his legend looms large.
If you’re a longtime Jordan collector, or if you’ve just discovered the magic of MJ thanks to “The Last Dance” docuseries, don’t miss your chance to turn heads and be boldly original in a pair of “Metallic Purple” sneakers. Beginning May 16, pick up a pair or two of the grade school boys’ and men’s Air Jordan 4 Retrobasketball shoes at Hibbett | City Gear.
The Nike N7 Summer 2025 collection is set to arrive at Hibbett, continuing its impactful mission of celebrating Indigenous communities across North America. This year's release integrates Native culture into essential sportswear, offering a powerful blend of heritage and contemporary design.
Made famous by Michael Jordan’s 1989 move “The Shot,” the latest Air Jordan 4 Retro iteration arrives in a Metallic “White/Court Purple” colorway on May 20.
