Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs face off against Jimmy Garropolo and the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday, Feb. 2 in what is set to be an electrifying Super Bowl LIV.
One of the most exciting athletes in all of sports, Mahomes looks to bring the Kansas City Chiefs their first Super Bowl victory in 50 years. The 2018 league MVP continues to outperform most of the defenses he goes up against with no signs of stopping.
Jimmy Garropolo hopes to join the likes of legendary 49ers
quarterbacks Joe Montana and Steve Young with the team’s first Super Bowl win
since 1994. While this will be Garropolo’s third trip to the Super Bowl, it
will be his first time as a starting quarterback.
San Francisco boasts one of the best defenses in the league, but Mahomes has proven time and time again that he can thrive under pressure (most recently in the Chiefs’ playoff comeback wins against the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans). If the 49ers can’t slow down Mahomes, then it will be up to Garropolo and the rest of the offense to try and outmatch one of the highest-scoring offenses in the league this season. Either way, this game is a must-watch for any fan.
A win for the Chiefs would only be their second Super Bowl victory in franchise history. If the 49ers win, then they will be tied with the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers for the most Super Bowl wins in NFL history (6).
