Trend forecasts are calling for fresh florals, oversized everything and bright colors in 2022. Here are some of our favorite style trends projected to dominate the casual fashion and streetwear style scene at Hibbett | City Gear for the first quarter of 2022!
The Style Trend: Loose Fits
Boyfriend tees and jeans, oversized jackets, blazers and shackets, and generously-sized coats and hoodies are in. Get the look by sizing up or choosing a more boxy or relaxed fit shirt, joggers or hoodie. To balance out your style, pair a larger-size top with more tailored pants, such as a boyfriend shirt or baggy sweatshirt with leggings.
The Style Trend: Mini Skirts
In 2022, less is more. Case in point: the ever-popular mini skirt. Try it in a bold color, ribbed texture or leather for a chic take on this clothing trend. January through early March temperatures a little too chilly for bare legs? Pair your mini with a pair of faux leather leggings or fleece-lined tights.
The Style Trend: Florals
If you didn’t acquire a green thumb during the pandemic, that’s totally OK! Look for wardrobe pieces with bold florals and greenery. If you lean towards more of the feminine, look for smaller-print florals to achieve a cottage-core aesthetic. Want to stick with the streetwear style? Shop oversized and non-traditional floral designs, like graffiti art, prints.

Think Lisa Frank-esque creations: zebra-striped leggings with a blue background color, zebra crewnecks sporting neon colors underneath or bright colored cheetah print boy shorts mixed with florals and colorful shapes.
The Style Trend: Eco-Friendly Everything
Saving the world is on trendl, especially if you can incorporate some of that sustainability into your personal style. Try adidas Ultraboost DNA sneakers made with plastic repurposed from coastal communities and Nike apparel made with its Move to Zero ethos.
The Style Trend: Chunky Kicks
Elevate your look with thick-soled shoes this year. Go with a more subtle chunky style, like the Air Max 95s, or embrace a platform-style shoe, like the adidas Originals Nizza, Nike Space Hippie sneaks or any shoe collab with Cardi B.
