Girls Inc Fashion Show: Confidence, Community, and Opportunity

Dec 23, 2025

This past Tuesday, Girls Inc. of Central Alabama hosted a fashion show designed to celebrate confidence, self-expression, and opportunity for young girls in the community. Through a partnership with adidas, 30 Girls Inc participants were outfitted toe-to-head in adidas apparel and footwear and invited to take the runway in a space created to uplift and encourage them.

Girls Inc. of Central Alabama serves girls through programs focused on leadership, academic enrichment, and life skills, helping them build confidence and prepare for future success. The fashion show aligned naturally with that mission, giving participants a platform to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

Ahead of the runway walk, the girls took part in a confidence workshop featuring local leaders and mentors who shared their personal experiences and encouraged the girls to pursue their goals. Jayla Kirkland spoke about her journey as an athlete and the importance of believing in yourself while following your passions. Beverly Wiseman, Regional Vice President of Hibbett, reflected on her experiences growing up and how staying focused on her dreams shaped her path forward. Nygia Chapman, Store Manager in St. Louis, offered words of encouragement centered on confidence, self-worth, and showing up fully in every space.

Following the workshop, the girls hit the runway, showcasing their adidas looks while friends, mentors, and community members cheered them on. The atmosphere was energetic and supportive, creating an experience that balanced fun with purpose. The runway walk gave each participant a chance to step outside their comfort zone and celebrate their individuality.

In addition to the fashion show, the event included interactive activities and makeup stations, giving the girls opportunities to connect, create, and enjoy the day together. To further support the organization’s ongoing work, Girls Inc. of Central Alabama was surprised with a donation, reinforcing the shared commitment to investing in programs that support and empower girls.

The day concluded with one final surprise: each of the 30 girls received a $200 shopping spree, allowing them to continue expressing their personal style while choosing items that made them feel confident.

The Girls Inc Fashion Show was a strong example of what can happen when brand partnership and community impact come together with intention. By combining mentorship, self-expression, and tangible support, the event created a meaningful experience that extended beyond the runway and into the lives of the girls it served.
