A rich navy tone saturates the Air Force 1 Low’s leather upper and foam midsole, with a solid, Mario-red rubber outsole outlining the bottom of the sneaker. A red-orange gradient accents the navy-blue Swooshes along the quarter panels, giving way to a bright yellow-gold mesh sockliner. Navy laces come flecked with matching yellow, and a small yellow-gold Swoosh rests at the bottom of the lacing system. Air Force 1 branding appears on the nylon tongue tag, with red Nike Air branding on the blue insole. The 1970s-esque retro lettering of “Nike” appears on the shoe’s heel.
The Nike Dunk Low’s take on the “Retro Lettering” colorway provides a nice counterbalance to the dark navy AF-1 Low. Its lived-in look gives it an even more vintage spin, thanks to a light colorway in various shades of Sail, cream and off-white that compose the leather upper’s overlays and faux-aged-to-perfect midsole.
The Dunk edition features the same retro lettering in yellow-gold on the blue heel emblem, with red-orange-gold gradient side Swooshes outlined in navy. A deep-blue mesh lines the shoe’s interior, and red Nike branding appears on the tongue tag, nicely coordinating with the red woven along white laces. Yellow-gold Nike branding also makes an appearance on the shoe’s navy insole, and a tonal red rubber outsole rounds out the sneaker package.
