Sometimes it’s OK to embrace the darkness — at least when you want the shadowy silhouette of an extremely wearable sneaker. With that in mind, get ready to cop a classic colorway due to make its return this spring.
Dropping May 11 at Hibbett, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG launches in a grey and black “Shadow” makeup. Be sure to enter the raffle through your Hibbett mobile app for your shot at scoring a pair in men’s sizes.
“Shadow” draws inspo from the 1985 Air Jordan 1 High OG sneaker. In fact, the colorblocking stays true to its original form with a black tumbled leather upper that will age nicely over time. Contrasting medium grey leather accents dress the toebox, Swooshes and the heel overlays. Grey Nike Air branding also rests on the tongue, with a black Air Jordan Wings logo adorning the heel.
The sockliner, tongue, lacing system and outsole all boast the true black tone, with a striking white midsole adding some levity to the otherwise dark colors.
When the Peter Moore-designed high top “Shadow” colorway was first released in 1985 it quickly gained popularity for its versatility and timeless design. The low top iteration offers a fresh take on the classic, providing a more casual and summer-ready option.
Wear your AJ 1 Retro Lows with crew socks, athletic shorts and a loose-fitting graphic tee; try them with no socks, joggers and a moisture-wicking tank; or sport them with a varsity jacket, denim pants and a button-down. Whether you’re a longtime AJ 1 Low OG fan, or you just like the look of the “Shadow” colorway, now is your chance to win a pair for yourself.
