Night Stadium, Total Orange and black compose the latest colorway. With an original release of 2013, the retro “Fear” edition is long overdue for a comeback. A dark, velvety suede dresses the upper, setting a frightful tone for this otherwise thrilling sneaker launch. Grey and black elephant print leather overlays festoon the toe and the heel, with an additional band of higher-nap suede running along the balance of the shoe for extra depth, texture and abrasion resistance. Black-as-night suede makes up the shoe’s midline, with dark-black laces that nicely blend in and a series of grey and Total Orange eyelets that give wearers the freedom to lace their shoes their way.
Most prominent from the front is the oversized, embroidered orange Jumpman playing at the tongue. Black with grey speckling gives way to grey along the midsole, which lays atop the otherwise white textured midsole, with its glimpse of Total Orange contained in the Air-Sole cushioning.
The heel includes a Total Orange Jumpman, and the black outsole also includes branded hits of orange. The insole of these sneaks pays homage to a Jordan commercial with stenciled-on words, “I’m scared of what I won’t become, and you’re scared of what I could become.”
