Seventeen years of data compiled by obsessively studying the feet of athletes went into creating this shoe. As a result, the 4DFWD Pulse running sneakers provide even better performance and more enhanced comfort than its predecessors. Plus, it uses Primegreen recycled materials throughout. 50% of the upper is recyclable content.

Speaking of the upper, it largely follows the same silhouettes adidas lovers have come to know — a foot-hugging shape created with a more loosely woven three-layer mesh for enhanced breathability while running. Three Stripes along the sides contribute to foot stability. The shoe’s collar is slim and offers a sock-like fit that gives you the linear flexibility you need on your daily training runs. A typical lace closure provides just the right balance of snugness at the top of the foot. The upper’s unique stretch means you may find your best fit by going a half-size down.

Wondering where this shoe diverges from previous adidas models? Take a look at the midsole. The brand employed 4D and EVA technology to print the perfect feature for exceptionally smooth runs. Building off a data-printed heel cradle, the lattice-style midsole’s construction and the shoe’s angle work with its EVA cushioning to absorb impact and provide easier strides. A rubber outsole allows you to pick up the pace, whether on wet grass or dry pavement.
