You’ve heard the phrase “where the rubber meets the road.” Well, that particular cliché doesn’t apply to the new, Curry Flow 8 performance basketball shoes. BBall shoes have always relied on grippy rubber outsoles to get a player from Point A to Point B … until now, thanks to the Curry Flow 8’s completely rubberless design.
This rubberless shoe offers a fresh start in the sneaker game and the official launch of Steph Curry’s standalone brand within the Under Armour family, and beginning January 22, the Curry fans in your family can cop a pair or two Curry Flow 8 sneakers in two new colorways! The “Yellow/Blue” rendition will be available in men’s and grade school kids’ sizes, while a blue and white version drops in men’s, grade school kids’ and preschool kids’ sizes.
When these sneakers were in the works, the team at Under Armour realized that the lightweight UA Flow foam was super grippy, too. This thick layer of foam creates a foundation that gives kids and adults of all ages the underfoot tech they need to get up and go, fearlessly bouncing into action on the court or while at play. Plus, the comfort of these kicks is unreal.
Riding atop that UA Flow technology is an eye-catching upper. The bootie’s flat-knit construction is reinforced with synthetic overlays that provide strategic support on the foot’s sides. Slipping on the shoe is easy, too, thanks to a high-stretch collar that seamlessly wraps the foot but still allows ankle flexibility for those game-winning plays.
A flexible Pebax plate lends support and stability to each move, working in tandem with the durable UA outsole. This outsole features a gradient traction pattern that radiates out in shockwave-like patterns to ensure a strong grip for those stop-on-a-dime moves.
And while there are plenty of notable features about this sneaker, the reimagined Curry logo takes center stage in the shoe’s design, with only minimal mentions of Under Armour inset into the outsole and the heel foam. With the release of this eighth signature shoe launching under a standalone brand, Curry aims to break the mold, shatter expectations and push toward new possibilities.
Whether you’re shopping for your preschooler, grade school kid or yourself, cop a pair of these exciting kicks in a variety of colors and sizes from Hibbett | City Gear. Beginning January 22, the following sneakers will be available online and in-stores:
