Whether it’s in the gym for P.E. class or an after-work game of pickup, the Utah Jazz’s Donovan Mitchell wants to help you unleash your superpowers.

For a sneaker that’s bright, colorful and more than a little cartoonish, Mitchell, aka “Spida,” teamed up with Marvel to create the latest adidas D.O.N. Issue #2 colorway, “Spidey-Sense,” launching August 28 in preschool, grade school boys’ and men’s sizes.

The Day-Glo-style shoes come in shades of Glory Mint, Signal Green and Solar Red, along with cartoon superhero sayings underfoot. For maximum on-court flash, the entire shoe’s upper comes swathed in a radioactive Signal Green, accentuated with a Glory Mint midsole and zig-zag details.

Like the high-flying Spiderman, Mitchell gets his nickname from his ability to catapult his body into the air as he slams the ball into the net. The shoe’s mesh upper keeps feet cool and comfortable while providing the right balance of support. Liftoff comes easy thanks to the flexible Bounce midsole cushioning. adidas’ lightweight Bounce technology is made specifically for the court offering a firmer feel that allows for tight turns and sharp cuts.

Signal Green laces flecked with Solar Red climb up the shoe’s throat, held in place by red cables and bisected by a zig-zagged “Spidey” tag. More zig-zag stitching plays along the medial side of the toe, bolstering the sneaker’s durability in a high-wear area and complementing the Solar Red Three Stripes built into the heel’s midsole area. A stitched-on, perforated overlay reinforces medial-side stability. The lateral side of the basketball shoe gets an action-packed comic-book-style zig-zag design with reflective and glow-in-the-dark detailing.

A reimagined Solar Red spider crawls up the shoe’s stacked-style heel piece, and D.O.N. is stamped on the midsole just below. Add action to your traction with comic book words like “Pow!” and “Zoom” incorporated beneath a weblike outsole pattern.
