Whether they’re attending virtual school, meeting in-person or doing a bit of both, toddler, preschool and grade school girls can slide their feet into the newest Jordan release beginning September 4. The Jordan Brand brand drops the Air Jordan 8 Retro in “Pinksicle,” a black, white and neon pink colorway, Friday.

This kids’-exclusive release goes heavy-handed on the black, which dresses the majority of this sneaker. Pinksicle and white punch up the palette with splashes along the sides and adorning the tongue, sock liner, outsole and heel tab. The crisp black leather gives the shoes an ultramodern vibe, with sewn-on overlays and perforated panels lending plenty of visual interest.

With Michael Jordan’s No. 23 in pink embroidered atop it, a black midfoot strap crisscrosses the lacing system to help lock even the littlest feet in for all-day wear. Kids (or moms and dads) can achieve a custom fit thanks to pink-colored tabs that allow for tightening and loosening those midfoot straps.

The sneaker’s embroidered Jumpman insignia on the tongue comes in white and pink, accentuating the abstract white-black-Pinksicle designs splashed along the sides. The Air Jordan 8 Retro gets its chunky look, thanks in part to a plush sock liner and oversized high top silhouette.

Pint-sized players and grade school kids get comfort by way of the Nike Air unit in the heel and the foam midsole cushioning. The bright pink outsole features a Swiss-cheese-like pattern with a series of holes sprinkled throughout for targeted traction and grip.
