After the triumphant release of the adidas Harden Vol. 5 Futurenatural earlier this year, James Harden is back in action with a fantastic new colorway. This time, rather than stick with monochromatic and muted shades, Harden is going big and bold.

The new Solar Yellow colorway drops on March 5 in men’s sizes, and it promises to be one of the most unique shoes on the court. The kicks take a rainbow approach to style with its in-your-face palette of Solar Yellow, Crew Yellow and Hi-Res Yellow, among other shades.

A bright blue flower covers the heel counter, while an orange and purple butterfly adorns the toe box. As if that wasn’t enough fun, you’ll also find a teal lace guard and pink flourishes along the eyelets, tongue tab and heel tab. Harden’s signature and logo proudly stand out on the top of the tongue.

Along the inner quarter, a white bird flies through some gray clouds toward an inscription that reads “Created W/ James Harden.” All of these designs mesh seamlessly with the bright Solar Yellow upper and outsole. Calling this shoe colorful is an understatement.

Despite the flower-power vibe these kicks are giving off, they still provide the same great performance you’re used to on the court. The shoe has many of the familiar elements of the previous adidas Harden Vol. 4 models but with a few important upgrades. The most important of these is the new Futurenatural technology.

Designer Jalal Enayah introduced this new fit system to give Harden even more control and speed during important games. As a one-piece mold, Futurenatural gives the wearer more freedom with precise movements thanks to superior lockdown.

When paired with Boost midsole technology and lightweight Lightstrike cushioning, the combo results in a shoe that offers excellent energy return all while cradling the feet in comfort. Underfoot, you’ll find a rubber outsole featuring a web traction pattern for increased grip on the hardwood.
