The next chapter in James Harden’s story begins this month with the release of the latest generation of his signature basketball shoe. Designed by adidas’ Jalal Enayah, the all-new Harden Vol. 5 brings with it an elevated yet fun-loving new look to basketball players of all ages and stripes.

The debut adidas x Harden Vol. 5 Futurenatural launches February 5 in a men’s Crystal White, Cloud White and Team Royal colorway with multicolor amorphous patches incorporated along the milky upper.

While this sneaker retains much of the flavor of the Harden Vol. 4, these kicks take an even more streamlined approach to Harden’s need for quickness and directional changes on the court.

Perhaps the most pronounced change? Futurenatural. This adidas innovation debuts in the Harden Vol. 5, but expect to see it integrated into future adidas models as well. Futurenatural features adidas Boost technology coupled with Lightstrike cushioning, resulting in a superior fit system. The seamless mold offers 360-degree lockdown and game-long comfort that enhances natural foot movement.

The white and blue colorway includes a dreamy white upper made of textile material, with the adidas Three Stripes subtly integrated just below the top overlay. A white mesh throat gives way to a tongue tag that includes Harden’s logo and signature. Teal eye stays contribute to the snug lacing, while a sock-like bootie with generously sized tongue and heel tabs allows the shoe to slide on with ease.

Colorful, nebulous patches in shades of tan, melon, yellow, pink, teal and blue add a cheerful tone to the otherwise neutral bball sneaker. The white midsole masterfully blends into the upper, offering a richly textured element to the shoe.

The sockliner gets a boost with foot-hugging plush elements that better shape to the foot. The data-informed traction pattern’s web offers the perfect balance of court-hugging grip as you execute moves on and off the court. Multicolored “BOOST” lettering on the outsole ties in the upper’s colorful shapes.
