Sneakers Release – adidas x ESPN Adilette “Cream White/Core Black/Vivid Red” Men’s Shoe & Slide Launching 10/10

Oct 7, 2021

The adidas x ESPN Adilette “Cream White/Core Black/Vivid Red” men’s shoe and slide launches October 10 at Hibbett | City Gear.

adidas and ESPN are two of the top names in the world of sports, so it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise to see a collaboration between the two. As luck would have it, both companies are celebrating a 42nd anniversary this year, making it the perfect time for a mashup of styles.

adidas released the Top Ten back in 1979 – the year SportsCenter first aired. To celebrate these anniversaries, the adidas x ESPN Top Ten Hi “SportsCenter” colorway releases in a men’s shoe and slide. Both styles will be available starting October 10.

The Top Ten Hi colorway has the same silhouette you’ve come to expect from the model but with a retro twist. The textured leather upper is in a Cream White that looks like it originally started as bright white but faded over the years. The traditional Three Stripes are black with a red outline, and you’ll also see black padding around the ankle with a similar red, gold and white outline. Don’t miss the tiny red and orange retro ESPN logo at the heel. It matches the black midsole, which is stitched in place with red thread.

The laces and tongue are where most of the fun is happening. You’ll see an array of golden lace bling, including the adidas Trefoil, Top Ten and the year 1979. Above this is a matching golden lace toggle that keeps the fit secure. The tongue sports a black and red Top Ten logo with a basket, as well as nods to adidas and SportsCenter.

The “SportsCenter” Adilette slide is just as retro. It comes with the same Cream White base, but you’ll notice red and black stripes along the top, spaced out with more textured leather print. The insole is the only place you’ll see the adidas and ESPN logos in their retro forms. The simplicity of these slides makes them great for throwing on any time you don’t feel like lacing up.

Both pairs were inspired by the original SportsCenter set, which featured retro orange, red and white lines in the background behind the anchors. One might even say the choice to collab with the Top Ten Hi pays homage to SportsCenter’s own “Top 10” segment.

Throw a nod to your favorite TV show and your favorite brand with the ultimate combination. The adidas x ESPN Top Ten Hi and Adilette “SportsCenter” colorways give you the best of both worlds. Find the men’s shoe and slide starting October 10 online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
