adidas calls the new Ultraboost “the pinnacle harmonization of weight, cushioning and responsiveness.” To achieve this running trifecta, designers took the DNA of previous Ultraboost models and made them even better.

The adidas Primeknit+ upper includes the high-performance recycled material Primeblue. Primeblue contains Parley Ocean Plastic, ocean-bound waste that is transformed into something much more sustainable.

This silhouette also turns its focus toward enhanced energy return. It fulfills that responsiveness guarantee by creating a chunkier midsole with 6% more of the energy-returning, super-springy Boost pellets. The Ultraboost 21 shoe also includes a reimagined Linear Energy Push torsion system, which reinforces the midsole with a stiffer material that contributes to the sneaker’s enhanced responsiveness and offers a little less flex.
