When LeBron James clocks it down the court, he brings force, power, speed and heat. Speaking of heat, while King James is most known for his press-worthy plays with the Lakers and the Cavs, he did win back to back championships with the Miami Heat.
The latest rendition of the Nike LeBron 18 drops in a Miami-inspired color palette, bathed in fuchsia Fireberry, black and Light Blue Fury elements. These LeBron 18 basketball shoes will launch on February 3 in men’s sizes.
Nike designer Jason Petrie has a talent for intuiting the right type of footwear for James. When creating the Nike LeBron 18, Petrie looked to past models and cherry-picked some of the “best of” features and that doesn’t stop with the new LeBron 18 Low.
For instance, instead of using Knitposite 2.0 for this sneakers’s upper a textile mesh-like padding is used. A cable system, which anchors at the midsole and runs to the laces, adds a solid framework of stability and snugness to the sneaker. An external molded heel clip keeps the foot firmly in place during those runs to the basket, and no-sew overlays also work to stabilize the foot. This shoe also keeps the Swooshes that play out along the toe and the shoe’s sides more subtle than previous versions.
For its cushioned comfort, fast liftoffs and light landings, players can rely on the proven power of a full-length Zoom Air unit and a stacked, visible Max Air in the heel. A series of diamonds glitter along the shoe’s outsole, providing a generative traction pattern that gives any player the preciseness he needs during quick changes.
Perhaps the most standout new feature on the Nike LeBron 18 basketball shoe is the shoe’s throat, which comes with pressurized pockets of Air that lightly pad the top of the foot.
