Looking to introduce the next generation to a sneaker that takes a retro design and updates it for modern-day performance? Let grade school kids take a trip from the 1980s to the present with a sneaker collab between adidas and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins.
On December 6, grade school boys and girls can stealthily walk the hallways, run the track or settle in with a Nintendo Switch game when they connect with the adidas x Ninja ZX 2K Boost shoes in a variety of colorways.
Thanks to the famous YouTuber and gamer, these adidas x Ninja shoes masterfully blend persistence, dedication and style with plenty of retro flavors. The shoes also come in men’s sizes.
Introduced back in 1984, the original ZX gets a modern twist with the Ninja ZX 2K. These adidas running shoes include an engineered mesh upper complete with suede overlays to provide stability, so kids and adults alike can enjoy running without worrying about whether or not their feet will slip. Plus, the sneaker’s low-profile silhouette gives an unimpeded range of motion.
Inside the sneaker, you’ll find details like an adidas OrthoLite sockliner, which keeps feet comfortably protected throughout playtime. An Adifit insole with Ninja branding contributes to the long-lasting comfort of the shoe. The Boost midsole is made up of thousands of pebbles that give any kid (or kid at heart) the energy-returning fortitude it takes to play “Destiny 2,” “Minecraft” or “Skyrim” for the long haul.
The shoe gets its branding through Trefoil logos and traditional Three Stripes cleverly integrated along the sneaker’s sides. A richly textured rubber outsole comes finely tuned to easily grip any playing or running surface, while the lacing system is anchored by TPU eyestays for a snug yet comfortable fit and feel.
