Cooler days bring all the signs of fall, whether it’s changing leaves, extra layers, football or pumpkin spice everything. adidas wants to help usher in that fall feeling with the release of the adidas X90004D, the brand’s newest running shoe innovation built expressly for urban runners.
The lightweight, energy-returning sneaker drops in a seasonal Grey and Matte Silver palette on September 4.
Crafted with 4D printed components, the adidas X90004D is like no other running sneaker on the market. The 4D printing process involves creating a latticed midsole structure that begins with a liquid resin and employs chemical curing to transform the liquid into a solid. This next-level system gives the adidas X90004D a lightweight, energy-returning base that’s as durable as it is comfortable. The interconnected design of the midsole mimics the frenetic pace of modern-day life and our connectedness via technology.
While the X90004D is truly revolutionary, so too are some of the road-tested features seen on other adidas shoes. The Primeknit upper, for example, hugs the foot with socklike ease, thanks in part to strategically placed, tightly woven triangles that give structure to higher-wear areas.
A generously sized heel tab makes these shoes easy to put on and even easier to slip off after a long run. The outsole’s rubber traction pattern is made with runners of all preferences in mind. Splash through pavement puddles, run on cool concrete or keep your stride on the treadmill and elliptical machine.
adidas’ signature Three Stripes branding plays out along the shoe’s sides and tongue, while other subtle features, like colorful eye stays and iridescent sheen, add glimpses of character to the aerodynamic sneaker.
