As Jordan unveils more of its 2020 All-Star collection, the brand’s exclusive releases continue to focus on Michael Jordan’s impact on the Chicago Bulls and the Windy City as a whole. The last time the NBA All-Star game was in Chicago was in 1988 when MJ was named MVP and won the slam dunk contest with one of the most iconic dunks in competition history.

On February 14, Jordan is rolling out its “UNC to Chicago” Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG release. Dark Powder Blue, Gym Red, white and black come together in a tribute to His Airness’ college days at UNC and his dynasty with the Chicago Bulls. This “Mommy and me” launch releases in women’s, infant, toddler and preschool kids’ sizes.

Originally designed in 1985 by Peter Moore, the AJ 1 Retros perfectly balance style with performance. The shoe’s high top retro silhouette includes a full-grain leather upper that gets a style boost from a Bulls-inspired Gym Red toe box peppered with breathable perforations.

Powder Blue Nike Swooshes feature on the sides of the shoe, giving way to a Powder Blue heel and back. A fully encapsulated Air-Sole unit and red solid rubber cupsole offer ultimate underfoot comfort. The outsole also includes an OG concentric traction pattern and flex grooves for a durable grip on the paint or the playground.

Other key details packed into the women’s and kids’ AJ 1 Retro include the oversized padded collar, plush sock liner and signature Jordan branding. The tongue’s Nike Air branding is in Gym Red, while the original “Wings” logo comes dressed in black.

Throughout his college career and his time in the NBA, Michael Jordan inspired generations of athletes and sneakerheads with his cutting-edge style and performance footwear.
