NBA All-Star Weekend takes place February 14-16 in Chicago and will bring together the top NBA players to showcase their talents and compete for charity. The All-Star game also unites basketball fans and sneakerheads in anticipation of the weekend’s exclusive shoe and apparel releases from the biggest brands. 2020 will be an especially important year for Jordan.

On February 15, snag a pair of the Nike Air Jordan 3 Retro sneakers dropping in a robust “Unite” colorway. Featuring Fire Red, Cement Grey and black tones, the sneaker pays homage to the Chicago Bulls and the city that gave Michael Jordan his professional start.

The “Unite” moniker refers to the Jordan brand’s UNITE campaign, which celebrates a generation coming together to create an impact that goes beyond the game of basketball. The shoes come in men’s and kids’ (toddler, preschool and grade school) sizes.

Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the AJ 3 was released in 1988 – the same year Michael Jordan dominated All-Star weekend in Chicago. MJ was wearing the newly-released AJ 3 sneakers when he defeated Dominique Wilkins in the slam dunk contest and was awarded MVP in the All-Star game.

Brash, bold and always stylish, these basketball shoes also resemble the Jordan 3 Retro DJ Khaled “Grateful” sneakers released a few years back. Tumbled and smooth Fire Red leathers form the shoes upper, interspersed with perforated grey detailing along the throat, tongue, eyestays and heel. The Cement Grey rolls out on the elephant-print mudguards – a pattern that ties together the grey detailing on the outsole and the black laces and eyestays.

These game-changing sneakers include a full-length foam midsole and a solid rubber outsole for unparalleled grip and traction. The heel Air unit is visible in the shoe’s white midsole, with a black rubber overlay set just above it. A black rubber heel piece includes the Nike Air branding; the tongue bears a red Jumpman insignia, and the outsole features Nike branding in Fire Red.
