Originally released from 1985 to 1986 and designed by Peter Moore, the latest iteration of the Jordan 1 High features an innovative dyeing process new to Air Jordan leather shoes. Aurora Green “Tie-Dye” is applied to the basketball sneaker’s toe tips, overlays and back. 

White dominates the quarter panel, midsole and heel trim. The vamp, locking laces, Air Jordan Wings logo and collar are all dressed in black. The Swoosh tongue logo gets a black-on-white treatment. A black outsole provides a balanced contrast to the silhouette. 

In addition to heat-wicking vents on the vamp of the full leather shoe, a non-woven fabric lining inside eliminates pinch points along the vamp stitching. Inside, there is also an EVA shoe pad imprinted with the Nike logo at the heel piece.

The must-have sneakers continue to boast the enduring performance technology that has made them a favorite. The heel holds an encapsulated durable membrane of pressurized air that delivers comfort along with lightweight, resilient cushioning.

The pliable rubber outsole is designed like a cradle with tall sidewalls that cup the uppers to create a unified piece. Widely regarded as having one of the best traction patterns for both indoor and outdoor court play, the outsoles feature grooves offering maximum axis rotation on the forefoot and increased flexibility throughout its entire length.

While the charm of the original Air Jordan 1 High is its timeless design — the adult version of this new “Tie-Dye” edition is eye candy in its own right — the little kids’ versions of these sweet kicks are downright irresistible.
