The Jordan 1 Mid “Bred” Black/Gym Red/White women’s shoe launches July 7 at Hibbett | City Gear.

Traditionally, women have been limited to pink or pastel variants of Jordan kicks. Luckily, that’s about to change with a traditional colorway that looks fierce in the colors of MJ’s Chicago Bulls. The Jordan 1 Mid black, red and white closely resembles the 2018 “Bred Toe” colorway—just with slightly different color blocking.

A white leather base keeps things grounded, while red and black overlays throughout the shoe add pop. Red leather covers the toe box, while a black leather overlay wraps around the toe cap and continues up the laces and around the ankle. There are also red overlays at the ankle and heel—not to mention a bold red Swoosh across the middle.

Red laces zig zag over a white tongue featuring a black Jumpman logo. There’s also a black Jordan wings logo printed on the lateral ankle showing a basketball taking flight. Inside the shoe, a black insole includes a red Jumpman on the heel.

A crisp white midsole featuring an Air Sole unit in the heel is stitched into place beneath the upper. Beneath that, the all-red outsole features the same unique traction pattern that originally made these a hit on the hardwood. A circular design radiates from the forefoot, while Nike branding appears at the midfoot.

While these kicks aren’t really court-ready these days, they are still great to wear on casual days when you want to channel some of His Airness’s style. Because these look really similar to the original “Bred” colorway—the one MJ infamously wore on the court despite NBA objections—you may consider pairing them with an OG Bulls jersey. For a more modern look, they’d look great with tailored black joggers and a white cropped hoodie.
