Back in the 1990s, PUMA’s Trinomic cushioning presented a trifecta of sneaker technology to wearers. Modeled as a triumph of cushioning, flexibility and stability, sneakers using the Trinomic tech took on an oversized approach befitting sneakers of the day. PUMA celebrated the Trinomic with the now-iconic triangle logo.
The PUMA TRC Blaze builds upon that heritage, taking a distinctly ’90s running-shoe silhouette and enhancing it with modern elements. The PUMA TRC Blaze drops in men’s sizes on July 1.
Multiple layers combine to form an upper that’s at once as durable as it is stable. Premium materials such as suede, mesh, leather and TPU merge into a silhouette befitting all things ’90s, including geometric shapes, zig-zag embroidery and pastel tones mixed with black and white.
Dressed predominantly in black, the upper’s base is breathable mesh with black quarter panels and slate grey suede overlays along the forefoot and heel. Meanwhile, a patch of higher-nap aqua suede is positioned on the medial side of the forefoot, complementing an aqua suede overlay at the heel.
The heel collar and tongue feature a mesh lining with a Lycra exterior, along with triangular PUMA emblem and a low-profile pastel-yellow tongue tab. The PUMA No. 2 logo and a small Formstrip appear on the lateral heel in aqua.
A low, boot-like entry perfectly hugs the foot, aided by the higher ankle and tongue for protection. Quarter-panel black overlays and slate TPU elements form the lacing system, offering a hit of purple at the top two eyelets.
A thick, off-white midsole provides a cushioned base, grounded by a rubber outsole, which includes a 1990s-style traction pattern in white, black, milky translucent and pastel yellow.
Celebrate the power of the community over individualism with the TRC Blaze sneaker this summer. Shop the drop online and at select Hibbett | City Gear stores in men’s, grade school and preschool sizes, beginning July 1.
