The holidays are officially here, and there’s never been a better time to treat the Jumpman lovers in your life (or yourself) to a hot new pair of Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG sneakers!
We’ve come a long way since the Peter Moore-designed Air Jordan 1’s made their first appearance in the mid-80s. The OG Jordan 1 achieved fame for its black and red “Bred” or “Banned” color palette. The Jordan 1 launching on November 30 maintains the original’s black coloring but is more reminiscent of the sneakers musical artist Cassie sports in the “Me & U” music video.
In place of the OG Jordan 1’s matte leather upper, the men’s Jordan 1 Retro High OG Black/Gold rendition features shiny patent leather to elevate this solid court shoe into a fashion footwear must-have.
While this certainly isn’t the first luxe sneaker we’ve seen from the Jordan line, the “Black Gold” shoe has a timelessly collectible quality to it. Befitting a black-tie event, the classic Air Jordan Retro upper comes swathed in shiny black, preserving the toe box perforations.
While black stitching outlines the upper, the midsole stitching comes in Metallic Gold, playing off the patent leather Metallic Gold Swoosh and embroidered Nike Air branding found on the tongue tag and around the ankle. The black ankle overlay features a stamped-on Metallic Gold Wings logo, too.
Black midsoles and fully encapsulated Air-Sole units contribute to underfoot comfort and style. The solid rubber cupsole, with its concentric traction pattern and flex grooves, will help you pivot to socially distanced (but still enjoyable) holiday plans this year.
The Air Jordan 7 Retro "Tennis Day" drops soon at Hibbett in men's and grade school sizing. Get release details, design highlights and styling inspiration for this iconic retro.
