On Saturday November 28, step into a pair of Air Jordan 4 Retro “Fire Red” basketball shoes, dropping at Hibbett | City Gear in toddler, preschool, grade school boys’ and men’s sizes.
The original “Fire Red” AJ 4 hit the market in 1989, the same year MJ made “The Shot” against the Cavs, and highlighted the uniqueness of Tinker Hatfield’s Jordan designs by way of accented mesh panels, “lacing arms” and distinct, visible Air unit. The “Fire Red” Jordan 4 is among the most coveted Jordans, and the November 2020 release is closest to that original shoe Jordan Brand has released to date.
Classic white leather uppers dress the Air Jordan 4 Retro, with premium double-stitched overlays and hoops-inspired white mesh panel cutouts along the shoe’s sides and climbing the throat. Black underlays make the mesh a real show-stopping feature, bolstered by the Fire Red embellishments that appear along the lacing system and the branding.
Additional branding features at the heel in the form of an embroidered Fire Red Nike Air logo against a black background, while the red Jumpman on the tongue rises above hastily-scrawled “Flight” branding. Black TPU wings and overlays contribute to the shoe’s vintage baller aesthetic, and the midsoles’ mix of red, black, grey and white brings together the color-blocked appearance.
The Air Jordan 4 focuses on performance AND style, employing a powerful combination of the traction-enhancing rubber on its outsole and a visible Nike Air unit in the midsole to propel players toward their hoops dreams.
